7. LU?KA UPANJA (A LITTLE LIGHT OF HOPE) This is the way you enable the effective healthcare for people from remote areas.

Life at 3200m altitude is quite hard, to put it mildly. The varying amount of health problems of the people of Tibet are exacerbated by poverty and remoteness. One of the illnesses facing remote areas is the Kashin-Becks disease which causes irregular and extreme growth of bones, most frequently the hands, upper arms and legs. Swollen and painful joints are the consequence of this disease, resulting in a disabling of any lifting by hand, or squatting. In its worse phase, the overall growth stops. We can help these people with the help of doctors from the Tibetan traditional medicine project.
