Busua community library Project officially commissioned on Saturday, 28th August 2010.

EHT-Network in partnership with HUMANITAS (A Slovenian Non-Governmental Organisation), Welthaus (An Austrian Non-Governmental Organisation), and Busua Community are constructing a community Library at Busua Town, located at Ahanta West, in the Western Region of Ghana. Busua is a fishing community with a high level of illiteracy and cases of teenage pregnancy. The average earning of the community of about 2000 inhabitants is less than one dollar a day. Among other health problems, Malaria and HIV/AIDS infections have increased considerably over the years. School dropout rate is also on the increase at the village. It is the hope of the partner organisations that, the provision of a community library would help to address some of this challenges and help improve the educational standards in the community. Also, we intend at helping to reduce teenage pregnancy and control malaria infections through workshops and other projects at the community library.

The project is financed by the EU-Platform/SLOGA, that is by the Austrian and Slovenian Platform of NGOs, to the tume of 22.500 EUR.
