NATION WIDE YOUTH PEACE WALK

 

 In 2004 EHT-Network organized a two - students nationwide Peace and HIV/AIDS educational walk entitled "The Unthinkable Journey", from Bolgatanga in the Northern part of Ghana through Upper West, Northern, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, Eastern and Greater Accra regions respectively in twenty - five (25) days covering a distance of 950 kilometres.

 

Ebenezer Parditey (CEO) of EHT-Network and King Wisdom Jawol a then student of Central University Collage and an EHT-Network volunteer undertook this walk. During the walk the two gathered more than 120 thumb - prints from chiefs, opinion leaders, ministers of state, members of parliaments and religious leaders in support of peaceful elections and HIV/AIDS education. During the walk, they counseled more than a million Ghanaians, comprising of school children, council of chiefs, churches  and drivers unions. The two set a new national record as the first set of students ever, in the history of Ghana to undertake this educational walk.

 

This project became successful through the support of Ghana Aids Commission, National Service Secretariat, Ministry of Interior, Ghana Education Service, Ministry of local Government and Rural Development, Central University College and some concerned citizens of Ghana.
